Backend developer · search & data matching
Systems that stay legible
as they get large.
I build backend systems for search and data matching — the unglamorous plumbing that has to be correct, fast, and still readable a year later. This is the professional side of the desk; the full record is in the CV.
About
I care about clarity, about deference to the reader of a system as much as the reader of a page, and about doing the work well even where no one will look. If a service can be simpler, I will simplify it; if a name can be clearer, I will rename it.
My background is in backend engineering for search and data matching, and my instincts come from the same place as everything else I do: a stubborn belief that the small things — a schema, a boundary, a well-chosen default — are where reliability actually comes from.
